Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, India’s leading personal health insurance company, today launched an affordable health insurance plan aimed at providing additional medical coverage to young Indians in Tier 2, 3 and 4 cities.
Named ‘Value Plus’, the plan offers higher insurance coverage ranging from Rs. 7.5 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh at a premium of about 20% lower through a specially selected hospital network. In the current market environment where rising medical costs are outstripping the insurance coverage of lakhs of people living in small towns, Star Health is offering affordable medical insurance through ‘Value Plus’.
The company aims to serve individuals and families by providing a balance of high protection and premium savings for adults aged 18 years and above and dependent children aged 91 days to 25 years. The product is designed to provide easy access through an exclusive network of quality hospitals in several non-metro cities for both scheduled and emergency treatments.
This will be supported by a limited room rental system based on hospital admission requirements. This structure offers premium savings without compromising on essential medical care.
This not only continues to provide key benefits in terms of hospitalization, recovery, claim-free continuity and wellness support, but also helps reduce premium costs by about 20%. In Coimbatore, Star Health offers its services across a total of 135 network hospitals; out of which 113 hospitals have been selected as exclusive ‘Value Network’ hospitals for the ‘Value Plus’ scheme.
Anand Rai, MP and CEO of Star Health Insurance, said:
“Over the past 20 years, Star Health Insurance has worked to make health insurance more reliable, accessible and affordable for millions of Indians. With the launch of ‘Value Plus’ in Coimbatore, we are further strengthening that legacy by bringing quality health insurance within reach of more individuals and families in India’s Tier 2, 3 and 4 cities.
Coimbatore is an important market for us; by combining high coverage options, exclusive hospital access and health-related benefits at a premium of around 20% lower, ‘Value Plus’ offers a very low-cost design to a wide range of customers. This launch is a continuation of our mission to make medical coverage universal and a practical step towards the national vision of ‘Insurance for All’.”
