Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has urged the complete abolition of the NEET exam system for admission to medical courses.
In his statement,
It is said that the Tamil Nadu government has been continuously opposing the NEET exam since its introduction. It has also been urged that the state governments should be allowed to fill medical student admissions on the basis of 12th class marks.
He said that he was deeply shocked by the cancellation of the recent NEET exam by the National Examinations Agency following complaints of question paper leaks.
He also mentioned that rural government school students, students from poor and disadvantaged families, and students studying in Tamil medium are being affected the most due to the NEET exam. Therefore, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has requested the Central Government to take immediate action to completely cancel the NEET exam to ensure social justice and equal opportunity.
