World Hand Hygiene Day was celebrated in a special way at Coimbatore Medical Center and Hospital yesterday (May 5).

Hand hygiene is essential for hospital workers. It plays a vital role in preventing the spread of germs and saving patients’ lives. This day emphasizes that by washing hands at the right time, we can prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

The event was inaugurated by *CamCH Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami*. “Hand hygiene is not just a habit, it is the foundation of healthcare. This small act can make a big difference in the lives of patients,” he said, highlighting its importance.

Continuing his speech, Medical Director Dr. A.N. Murugan emphasized the need for staff in all departments of the hospital to practice proper and consistent hand hygiene.

A ‘handwriting campaign’ was held as part of this event.
Many doctors, nurses, and hospital staff participated enthusiastically in this.

Additionally, staff were provided with procedural explanations on proper hand washing methods.

Through this awareness program, the CamCH management has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality and safe treatment to patients.
